5 Signs That It's Time To Change Your Job

20% of workers in the UK say that they will leave their jobs in the next year. Our consultats have listed five main reasons that their candidates give for wanting to change jobs. 

1. You’re no longer feeling challenged
A challenging job fuels your intellectual, mental and emotional engagement with the role. If your skills aren’t being used, you’ll tend to lose interest and motivation. Look for a job that makes you push yourself to grow and learn.

2. You’re not offered training and development opportunities

Training and development in the workplace helps you enhance your skills and shows that the company is ready to invest in you. It’s also vital for companies to give their employees further training as that will help the organisation progress. Choose a company that wants to help you grow.  

3. You constantly feel stressed and unhappy
A small amount of stress is normal, but constant stress can have negative consequences to your health, social and work life.  If you’re unhappy thinking about your job, that’s another sign that you need to move on and find a role that’s a better fit for you.

4. You’re not rewarded/recognised for your hard work
Recognition from your boss or peers shows that your work is being valued and that’s a great feeling. If you’ve been at your job for 10 years and still earn the same amount, it may be time to ask for a raise! Alternatively, find a company that acknowledges your work and makes you feel appreciated.

5. You want to work on bigger & more ambitious projects
Sometimes, the projects that you are working on are not challenging enough. If you are doing a job that doesn’t feel right for you, then it’s time to move on to bigger projects that keep you motivated.
