We are working in partnership with the Sidra Medicine. Our client is an ultramodern, all-digital academic medical centre specialising in the provision of care for women and children. Based in Qatar, our client will focus on world-class patient care, medical education and biomedical research.

We are recruiting for a Consultant - Occupational health

Job Summary:

The Consultant - Occupational health is expected to work closely with the Occupational Health Clinical Professionals to provide clinical leadership to the Occupational Health & Wellbeing team. The incumbent supports in service development, clinical leadership, clinical governance activity, including clinical audit, clinical guidelines, protocol development and clinical risk management. In addition the Consultant is expected to work closely with the Infection Control, Virology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases teams to manage outbreaks, infection control issues amongst staff and in policy development; Close liaison with Human Resources business partners and employee relations advisers is expected as well as with individual managers and staff who self refer for specialist support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees health surveillance as determined by Organization policy and legislation to ensure identified ill health conditions associated with work are identified and addressed.
  • Obtains specialist reports and liaises with external, treating specialists, hospital services and other health providers in the area.
  • Assists in the interpretation of sickness absence trends as necessary to ensure a targeted approach to ill health in the workplace is addressed.
  • Participates in the teaching and training activities of the Department to develop skills of nursing staff.
  • Takes active part in Service development, teaching, and training, supervision of occupational health staff, clinical governance, research and audit.
  • Be actively involved in the leadership, management and decision making of the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Department


Essential Requirements:

  • MD or equivalent qualifications
  • Completion of residency program in the specialty area from an accredited Western Board.
  • 10+ year's clinical experience in Occupational Health.
  • Evidence of understanding and adherence to the principles of Good medical Practice set out by the GMC.
  • Clinical skills commensurate with the provision of an NHS Occupational Health Physician service
