Senior Metro Operation & Maintenance Manager

Cavendish Professionals are looking for a Senior Metro Operation and Maintenance Manager to relocate to Qatar and conduct the following job specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic direction, planning, and managing development & implementation of policies, procedures and work instructions for aligning the department's operations to the committed performance targets to ensure operational efficiency and performance;
  • Liaises with other departmental leads in order to support achievement of Qatar Rail's wider business objectives;
  • Meets Key Performance Indicators according to targets agreed with the O&M Director
  • Supports the achievement of Service Delivery Department Business Objectives.
  • Develops and manages processes & resources to meet requirements of Doha Metro customers;
  • Leads & participates on behalf of Qatar Rail in development and updating of standard operating procedures and work instructions due to changes in customer's requirements, legislation, work process and methods and etc.;
  • Leads & participates in development and updating of operating procedures and instructions due to system changes;
  • Reviews any non-conformances and Safety Notices raised against the department regularly and assigns resource to close out within agreed timescales;
  • Defines requirements of assets related to Doha Metro
  • Leads development of plans & processes to ensure assets are safe for operations;
  • Ensures that environmental impacts are properly managed and fully compliant with all applicable legislation and Qatar Rail policies.
  • Complies with all Qatar Rail CMS Policies and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Performs and carries out other duties as instructed by the O&M Director.
  • Support delivery of works within departmental budget for fiscal year.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Operational management or other railway related area. Membership of Institute of Railway Operators or other relevant professional associations desirable.
  • 12 years of railway management experience;
  • Formal or hands on prior experience of a managerial role in an operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of train scheduling, train utilisation, control centre operations, station operations, train operations and depot operations;
  • Thorough understanding of the rail systems basics such as driverless trains, moving block signalling systems, traction power supply distribution, platform screen doors, automatic fare collection, track and crossovers, control and communication systems and E&M systems, their functions and operations.
