Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)

27 Nov

This Sunday marks the end of CRY Awareness Week, the annual campaign week for Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity that is very close to us at Cavendish.

CRY’s main focus is to raise awareness about cardiac risk in young people and to fund research into finding better treatments for those who suffer from cardiac disease. Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions, Cardiac Risk in the Young has been working to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) since their formation in 1995.  They also provide much needed support to young people who are suffering with a heart condition, and bereavement counselling to the families of those who lose their lives.

We would like to take this opportunity to raise awareness about CRY, in the hope that it will encourage more young people to get their hearts checked, and pay more attention to their cardio-vascular health.
