Our client is one of UK's most experienced company in environmental consultancy, property and buildings, power and energy, highways, roads and rail infrastructure, urban and regional planning.

Based in London Bridge, we are currently seeking a Flood Risk Associate to join their environmental team. This is an exciting opportunity for the chosen candidate to work within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of high profile projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of seven flood risk engineers
  • Produce FRAs for development projects in accordance with the NPPF
  • Outline drainage/SuDS strategies and hydraulic modelling, both as part of multi-disciplinary teams and for our own external clients
  • Provide due diligence flood risk advice to landowners and are increasingly undertaking flood studies in the public sector, an area we are looking to grow further

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ideally degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • At least 10 years' experience preparing FRAs, drainage strategies and flood alleviation schemes for public and private sector clients and have obtained a relevant professional qualification
  • Ability to recognise and communicate flooding and drainage related constraints and opportunities at development sites
  • Experience producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and drainage strategies using Micro Drainage and knowledge of hydraulic modelling
  • Good knowledge of the planning system, in particular flood related policy and guidance such as the NPPF and SuDS Manual
  • Experience of leading public and private sector bids
  • Experience of undertaking flood alleviation schemes including economic assessments
  • Ability to manage team to deliver both technical and financial targets
  • Good project management and communication skills in a client facing role
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others
