This facility is a major private hospital in West London providing out-patient and in-patient services. The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment of its facilities which will provide the most desirable and state of the art private hospital in London.

Based in the newly built Kensington Diagnostic Centre, our client is seeking for a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist to join their team in the Cardiology Department.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Perform and report real time Echocardiograms independently in accordance with local guidelines and department protocols on outpatients and inpatients.
  • Assist with TOEs, Stress ECHOs (pharmacological and treadmill) and bubble contrast studies.
  • Fit, analyse and report holter monitors, 24° BP monitors and arrhythmia monitors.
  • Perform ECGs and exercise stress tests.
  • Provide basic haemodynamic monitoring in the Angiography Lab.
  • Perform and report on tilt table testing.
  • To participate when necessary in invasive diagnostic techniques, i.e. cardiac catheter procedures, pacemaker implants and any other invasive procedure


  • To have a sound working knowledge of all relevant clinical tests carried out in the department, working accurately and maintaining at all times high standards of quality.
  • To familiarise yourself with all hospital and departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • To be proactive in keeping up to date with advances in the field of Cardiology and be willing to attend courses and conferences in order to facilitate this.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Achieve and maintain ALS certification.
  • Be flexible in working between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
  • To become familiar with all relevant hospital IT systems and databases.
  • To ensure that all procedures are carried out in accordance with local and departmental guidelines.
  • To ensure that all paperwork associated with cardiac testing is accurately and completely filled out and all information is entered into relevant databases.
  • To ensue that reports are generated for exams performed in accordance with departmental protocols and according to reporting turn around time.
  • To be prepared to train and work in new areas of Cardiac testing as and when necessary.
  • To assist in the care of all equipment within the department ensuring that cleanliness is maintained and all equipment faults are reported immediately to the supervisory person.
  • To create and maintain good working relationships with all members of the team and with members of other departments.
  • To comply with the hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality and data protection.
  • Actively participate in department MDTs.
  • To undertake other tasks as required and agreed with the departmental Manager.


  • Understand implications of Integrated Governance and adhere to hospital governance policies including the reporting of incidences, near misses.
  • Ensure compliance to standards in respect of all legislative requirements, including but not limited to CQC, SHE, DSE, Fire, COSHH, BLS, Manual Handling, Safeguarding Children & Adults, Information Security and Infection Control.
  • Maintain safe working practices and adhere to clinical risk management policy and recommendations.
  • Participate and assist in developing standards of patient care based on sound research findings.
  • Proactively assist in audit and quality assurance programmes.
  • Adopt the correct administrative procedures when dealing with complaints from patients/relatives following set policies and procedures


  • Maintain positive working relationships with all Consultants, ensuring individual Consultant protocols are utilised.
  • Ensure that supplies are adequate and equipment is in working order


  • Ensure effective communication to patients and colleagues
  • Ensure attendance and completion of all mandatory study days
  • Share knowledge, skills and experience and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • To act as a role model and knowledge source for peers and fellow colleagues by providing advice and support which supports staff and benefits the care of patients

Required Skills and Requirements:

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) BTEC, HTEC IN MPPM M.S.C.S.T. or equivalent and current ILS Certification are essential
  • ALS, BSE accreditation, IBHRE (Device management), IBHRE (EP) are desirable
  • RCCP registration
  • Appropriate experience working in a Senior Cardiac Physiologist role is essential
  • Private Hospital experience is desirable
  • Good communicator/interpersonal skills
