They are currently recruiting for a Clinical Educator - Surgery to come and join their team.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Follow the NMC Code, Professional Standards of Practice and behaviour. Provide support and advice to the clinical teams in respect of professional issues such as re-validation
  • Round on directorate patients at least once a week to illicit positive feedback and constructive feedback to improve the service.
  • Develop the clinical team with appropriate and creative approaches for training and mentorship to maximise learning
  • Ensure that an effective learning environment for both undergraduate and post-graduate students is maintained in the clinical area. Participate in educational audits as appropriate
  • Participate in clinical audit programs and regularly audit nursing practice using a variety of audit tools

Skills and Requirements:

  • NMC Registration
  • A clinical expert through formal education and/ or extensive clinical experience in varied surgical specialities
  • Educated to higher education level
  • Postgraduate qualification /Masters degree or working towards
  • ENB Mentorship (or equivalent)
  • Evidence of mentoring and development of staff
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of structured classroom / clinical teaching
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a large team
  • Demonstrate ability to influence others
  • Teaching and presenting
  • Surgical background experience
