We are working in partnership with the Sidra Medicine. Our client is an ultramodern, all-digital academic medical centre specialising in the provision of care for women and children. Based in Qatar, our client will focus on world-class patient care, medical education and biomedical research.

We are recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Anaesthesiology (Pain)

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (Pain) will be responsible for working closely with the Anesthesiology physicians to facilitate safe and efficient provision of anesthesia services to patients. This position will focus mainly on duties associated with the running of the departmental pain service for Pediatric and/or Adult (Women and Obstetric) patients. This will involve assisting with assessment, education, consent, administration, documentation and instruction for patients who receive care from the Anesthesia Department Acute and/or Chronic Pain service for adult and/or pediatric patients. S/he will assistthe Attending Anesthesiologist in clinics and pain rounds and will work in association with and under the supervision of Anesthesiology physicians to facilitate safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia-related services. The position may also sometimes require duties in other areas such as departmental research activities, departmental quality assurance, Pre-Anesthesia Testing clinics and administrative duties. S/he is part of the innovative care team that will meet the individual needs of the patient and their family. The Clinical Nurse Specialist practices in accordance with Qatar rules and regulations and their professional body's standards of care providing evidence-based best practice care in an age appropriate care model. S/he is instrumental in providing patient and family education.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Post graduate degree in nursing. Minimum 1 year from recognized educational institutions or Master's degree in Nursing
  • 3 year clinical experience after registration as registered nurse and 1 year experience in the same specialization after postgraduate degree in nursing.
  • Valid professional nursing license in country of origin
  • Meets licensing requirements of the State of Qatar
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams to meet care objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, assess and develop educational materials for staff and patients
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate, supervise, and evaluate pain management interventions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and integrate knowledge and skills into practice
  • Demonstrated ability to access, critique, and analyze information sources
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, information and knowledge on patient outcomes and modify interventions to improve health care outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, assess and develop educational materials for staff and patients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in organizing data and generating thorough, accurate, timely reports
  • Demonstrated experience with Clinical Information Systems (CIS)
