We are recruiting for a Consultant - Family Medicine.

Job Summary:

Lead a multidisciplinary team of Consultants colleagues, delivering patient centered care in transitional settings. Providing leadership to team members, support to the Group Leader while operating as an effective contributor to the delivery of patient care as outlined in the service delivery plan for circa 75% of their rostered time.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership and support to all Consultants and Ambulance Paramedics within their team in exercising their responsibilities.
  • Establishing a Leave Rota within their MHS-team(s) consistent with principles set by the Executive Team and compliant with general HMC contractual terms.
  • Representing their team at MHS Governance/Medicines Management Committee meetings and other meetings as determined from time to time by the Executive team
  • Initial investigation and central reporting (or delegation of such to a team member) of all complaints received against their team
  • Investigating, analysing and reporting on all Medicines Management issues affecting their team
  • Undertake an annual appraisal of all Consultants and Ambulance Paramedics within their team
  • Provide a pastoral support to team members and escalate concerns to the Group Leader
  • Clinical and organisational governance within their team
  • Establishing a working rota so that all clinical workload planned and unplanned is covered, working with team members to ensure the highest continuity of patient experience.
  • To ensure working rotas allow all team members their agreed CPD, audit and administrative duties whilst maximizing the efficiency of clinical care delivery
  • Attending MHS Clinical Governance committee as the representative of their team
  • Reviewing, analyzing and reporting on all Significant Event and OVA reports arising within their team
  • Overseeing clinical audit activity within the team and production of such clinical and operational audits as commissioned by their Group leader
  • Accepts responsibility for own personal and professional development and undertake such programs as required. Engaging with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program provided and commit to the training opportunities provided to facilitate audit and research within the Mobile Health Service.
  • Actively involving and engaging MHS consultants and other healthcare workers within their team in the design and delivery of care to their MHS-teams' cohort of patients
  • Creating an environment within their team where clinical innovation is encouraged and implemented in the interests of patients
  • Provide strong visible leadership to consultants and other healthcare workers within their team which fosters a culture of collaboration and outcome focused working
  • Develop engagement with other Senior Team leaders and the Associate Medical Director to ensure an organizational focus in maintained on the improvement of services for all MHS Patients
  • Ensure delivery against defined strategic outcomes (e.g. the MHS Service Delivery Plan and Quality markers as set by the Executive team from time to time)
  • Lead on the development and implementation of changes to clinical practice which improves quality of care delivered by the team
  • Ensure their team contributes to the development of the Mobile Healthcare Service (and wider Ambulance Group) to achieve accreditation under JCI when applicable
  • To develop an understanding of the wider health needs of their team's cohort of patients and contribute to the strategic thinking required to position their team to meet those needs
  • Step up to acting Group leader to cover leave and other absences of that post
  • To be available on call by telephone throughout the 96 hours period that their team is on duty to deal with clinical and operational queries arising from any team member.

Essential Requirements:

  • MD, MBBS or MBChB or Equivalent; for example, FANZCA, FRCA, FFA (CCT)
  • Completion of residency program in the specialty area from an accredited Western Board.
  • Satisfactory completion of an Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) residency program in the United States and certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS
  • Satisfactory completion of a residency program accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Specialist Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Satisfactory completion of a residency training program accredited by a competent authority of a member state of European Community, or Specialist Certification according to the Council Directive.
  • Other countries, (including Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong) recognized qualifications of a similar status that is acceptable to Sidra.
  • Maintenance of board certification status as required in home country.
  • 5+ years clinical experience post certification and completion of training.
  • Recognized achievements in clinical care.
  • Recognized experience and leadership of Adult anaesthesia clinical service leadership
  • Valid professional License in the country of origin or country of practice in the specialty area
  • Strong Medical Knowledge of established and evolving practice, Diagnostics, Therapeutics and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with varied staff efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
