Job Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Chief of Radiology, The Division Chief provides clinical, educational, research and executive management leadership in Neuroimaging. They will be a clinical and managerial leader working with the Sidra executive team to develop and deliver strategy and business plans and is accountable for resources and performance in Neuroimaging. In conjunction with cross-functional teams, the Division Chief will integrate research and education priorities into a program of excellent clinical service delivery.

The Division Chief will have a full-time appointment to Weill Cornell medical College - Qatar. Furthermore, they will function as an integrated member of the imaging team. It is anticipated that dedicated academic and administrative time will be provided, but that the division chief also provide specialist clinical radiology services for the Department of Radiology with particular regard to service provision in women's, pediatric and neonatal imaging for patients and medical research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Clinical Chief, identifies and articulates the vision, strategic direction, and growth of the Division of Neuroimaging and collaborates on the implementation of strategies to achieve them.
  • Promotes a culture of excellent, efficient and quality service delivery in a congenial, supportive, collaborative and equitable environment.
  • Leads clinical service planning, service development and capacity planning for the division's activities - specifically, the Division Chief - Neuroimaging will work closely with various clinical and administrative stakeholders to create a seamless working team.
  • Promotes leadership and direction for the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention, and direct mission of excellence for the medical staff, and collaborates with the Clinical Chief to execute the strategies.
  • Promotes mentorship and academic career development for Division members.
  • Responsible for all administrative related activities of the Division unless otherwise provided for by the hospital, and serves on all requested committees
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provision of services.
  • Continue surveillance of the professional performance of all individuals in the Division who have delineated clinical privileges, including ongoing and focused professional practice evaluations (OPPE and FPPE).
  • Perform and provide interpretation of diagnostic radiologic imaging examinations, and provide diagnostic consultation related to diagnostic imaging to other members of the medical staff. Examinations, procedures, and studies performed will include the full range of diagnostic work that would be performed by an appropriately credentialed diagnostic radiologist. Routine studies such as plain film interpretation, the normal range of fluoroscopic examinations and common imaging procedures, and the interpretation of MRI, CT scans, and ultrasound are required. Interpretation of mammography exams is a dedicated skill and some body radiologists with this skill will be required to provide this service.
  • Prepare all records and reports as may be required in support of services rendered and as required by Qatar State Law
  • Provides clinical services as assigned. Responsible for clinical services provided in area during assigned time frame, which could include an evening shift rotation and participation in on call roster. All scheduling in radiology is established at the direction of the Chief of Radiology.
  • Provide advice and opinions in support of diagnostic interpretations of radiological examinations and procedures as provided in conjunction with patient care.
  • Read STAT and emergency diagnostic imaging studies and provide verbal/written results of critical values to clinical staff as directed by the facility policy.
  • Develops, assists and/or participates in medical research/academic projects as directed by the Chief of Radiology.

Essential Requirements:

  • MD degree (or equivalent)
  • Residency Training in OB/GYN (or equivalent)
  • Subspecialty Fellowship (or equivalent training or certification)
  • 10 plus years clinical experience.
  • 3 plus years in Academic leadership
  • Management and administrative functions
  • Extensive functional knowledge and clinical experience in appropriate diagnostic radiology imaging techniques and procedures
  • Delivery of departmental clinical/technical training programs
  • Demonstrated staff and resource management skills
