Our client is an ultramodern, all-digital academic medical centre specialising in the provision of care for women and children. Based in Qatar, our client will focus on world-class patient care, medical education and biomedical research.

We are recruiting for a Educator - Clinical Nutrition.

Job Summary:

The Educator in Clinical Nutrition is a key member of the educational leadership team and the Medical unit leadership team, supporting both the department's and the organization's strategic direction. The educator ensures that educational initiatives and processes support the standards for nursing care, Sidra policies, and regulatory requirements. He/She works collaboratively with respective unit leads in supporting the maintenance of competence in Sidra employees.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manages resource utilization to secure timely, efficient, accessible and effective education for employees
  • Collaborates with clinical managers, colleagues, and leadership team to plan, implement and evaluate the educational needs of staff and family
  • Uses standardized templates and assessment tools to assess educational initiatives and ensures meeting employee/family needs and satisfaction
  • Manages educational resources and identifies risks in educational processes, informs leadership and actively participates in managing devising solutions
  • Is actively involved in revising educational policies in collaboration with managers
  • Ensures that education is provided in accordance with established guidelines, policies, guidelines and protocols of Sidra and the State of Qatar to support standards of health service delivery
  • Works collaboratively and creatively with all team members to achieve divisional/departmental/unit service objectives optimizing evidence based research and change theory
  • Continually evaluates learning, Identifies educational processes that contribute to less-than optimal outcomes and makes necessary modifications to optimize educational process/program
  • Establishes and maintains effective administrative processes related to educational programs and processes
  • Prepares reports and maintains records of activities and outcomes
  • Provides a welcoming work environment and promotes the effective orientation, precepting and support of new staff in the practice setting
  • Promotes retention of all staff by creating a healthy work environment that facilitates teamwork and treats colleagues, patients and visitors with dignity and respect at all times
  • Participates in Sidra wide Performance Improvement activities and committees as assigned
  • Develops key performance indicators for clinical staff and initiates changes/improvements based on educator/staff/ family feedback
  • Completes performance appraisals (probationary and annual reviews) with respective clinical leads making sure evidence is concrete and objective
  • Develops individual learning plans with clinical leads arising from appraisals and provides clear feedback to team members in a manner that is conducive to maintaining and improving performance
  • Supports educational and clinical research
  • Supports quality data collection and analysis as the process of evaluating outcomes; learning, staff/family centered care and satisfaction, patient/family outcomes
  • Develops and sustains own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness and maintains a professional profile
  • Provides documented evidence of performance and maintenance of skills consistent with position
  • Serves as a professional and clinical role model for staff, demonstrating behaviors consistent with the organizational/education competency framework, Sidra values and Sidra policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Role models conflict resolution when required, promoting evidence based solutions where accessible
  • Deputizes for the Education Manager as required
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of learning theory and curriculum design and integrates knowledge of learning theory and curricula design in delivering educational initiatives to meet the needs of Sidra employees
  • Works as a clinical nutritionist one day a week demonstrating behaviors consistent with the competencies identified for that role.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Nutrition,Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetics or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant practice setting
  • 2+ years of recent experience in an educator role in relevant practice setting
  • Registered as a Dietician in country of origin
  • Ability to think critically and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage constant change, including technological developments
  • Demonstrated Skills/ ability to convey knowledge in various ways
  • Strong knowledge in theories of teaching, learning and evaluation
