Our client is one of UK's most experienced company in environmental consultancy, property and buildings, power and energy, highways, roads and rail infrastructure, urban and regional planning.

Based in Bristol, our client is looking for a Graduate Consultant to join their Environmental Assessment & Design (EAD) Team on a full time basis.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of high profile UK projects that cover both public and private sector schemes and developments. The project sectors we are currently involved in include large scale masterplans, mixed use, retail, residential and leisure based redevelopment. Beyond direct EIA project involvement, we also offer an opportunity for candidates to be involved in the following project roles that include: Master planning inputs, Environmental Technical Studies, Feasibility Studies, Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Condition Discharge, Sustainability Appraisals and Strategic Environmental Assessment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of a variety of EIA projects, including aspects of budget control
  • Preparation of Environmental Statements, including the technical review of ES chapters and the drafting of introductory and concluding chapters and non-technical summaries
  • Technical input into environmental projects or environmental aspects of larger projects, and good technical understanding of relevant environmental disciplines
  • Co-ordination of other multi-disciplinary services and technical outputs on non-EIA projects
  • Project Client liaison
  • Contribution to wider company initiatives, such as the development of new services and improving standards
  • Preparation of fee proposals and assistance with bids

Skills and Requirements:

  • Appropriate degree (appropriate professional membership e.g. IEMA also preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience
  • Successful track record of EIA co-ordination/project management
  • Knowledge of EIA, including legislation, guidelines, planning processes, environmental assessment methods
  • Good understanding of EIA case law would be advantageous
  • Excellent report writing, technical reviewing, communication and project management skills
  • Excellent client liaison skills
  • Experience of budget/financial control of projects would be an advantage
  • Good user capability of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • The ability to work as part of a team across various offices in the UK in line with the client's 'One Team' culture
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Capability in a relevant technical environmental discipline would also be advantageous
