Our client is a fast-growing company with a clear vision to explore new horizons through its extensive knowledge of the architecture and engineering industry, as well as the commitment to deliver high quality projects. Based in Kuwait, our client is one of the most established local architecture and engineering companies and has long standing relationships with government, developers and local investors.

They are currently looking to recruit a Lead Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards, applicable laws and regulations; assist the HoS in establishing/updating section policies and procedures
  • To ensure the preparation of tender and contract document that includes the bill of quantities. The position holder is also responsible for analysing tenders from various contractors and recommending in the selection of the same.
  • Support the HoS in providing inputs to the proposals department during submission of proposals
  • Develop a thorough understanding of owner/client design requirements prior to the commencement of any design project; coordinate with the HoS and other architects & engineers for further clarifications on design requirements
  • Support the design department in the preparation of final design through providing regular inputs on materials, costs etc
  • Prepare tender documents for clients that includes the bill of quantities, specifications, contract conditions, final design etc for the client's review
  • Attend to the client's feedback on tender documents and incorporate the client's feedback
  • Assisting in floating the tender for the client
  • Attend meetings with the client that include both pre-tender and post-tender meetings
  • Prepare and review the Tender Evaluation Report
  • Check all outgoing documents (tender/contract) in accordance with ISO 9001 and client standards
  • Monitor the project progress/target and ensure completion of projects as planned
  • Guide and assist team members as and when required

Note: The job holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and form part of the function of the job.

Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferably in Civil Engineering or a Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying
Preferred Degree in RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, London)
Certification from Kuwait Society of Engineers

Professional Experience:

12+ years of experience in the construction industry with at least 5+ years in Quantity Surveying
Pre - contract experience with Consulting and QS Firms is a must

Techno - Functional Competencies:

Knowledge of laws and local regulatory framework
Knowledge of relevant software that includes MS Office
Knowledge of relevant standards that includes ISO Standards
