Based in Qatar, our client is a government-run company set up to manage, operate and maintain three unique and fully integrated rail systems to the citizens of Qatar.

Our client is looking for a junior to mid-level Lawyer to support the senior lawyers of the Legal Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the activities of the Company are conducted lawfully and in compliance with all relevant contracts, procedures and regulations.
  • Provides full legal service to Service Delivery (Operations) and Business Development
  • Provides research, legal opinion(s) concerning specific issues (Consumer Protection, Commercial Law, Real Estate, Investment and Free Zones).
  • Interfaces with key external government and private sector stakeholders, including drafting commercial agreements and MOUs
  • Supports all Corporate and Project procurement programmes, including assisting in the finalisation of RFPs and tender reviews and assessments
  • Assists in the development and rollout of education programmes for corporate governance and other related organisational policies
  • Deals with external solicitors in an efficient and cost-effective manner while obtaining external legal advice as required by the Company from time to time.
  • Provide timely, efficient and effective legal service to the organisation's operations and commercial teams to ensure that all activities are pursued in line with strategic business objectives and commercial interest and in compliance with relevant laws, policies and procedures.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Law Degree and admitted in a relevant jurisdiction
  • Must have had experience in private practice and have broad commercial/corporate experience of 4 - 7 years in, or associated with the project or construction industry
  • Commercial and Contracts - with an emphasis on legal work supporting major projects
