We are recruiting for a Senior Consultant - Family Medicine.

Job Summary:

Lead all teams within their Group, taking overall responsibility for all operational and clinical areas of activity, while maintaining clinical currency through effective delivery of high quality patient care in transitional settings for circa 50% of their rostered time.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership and support to Team Leaders within the Group in exercising their responsibilities
  • Representing their respective teams at MHS Governance/Medicines Management Committee meetings and ensuring communication of key messages arising from such meetings are known to all team leaders within the Group
  • Overseeing investigation and central reporting ( or delegation of such to a team leader) of all complaints, significant events and OVAs received against their Group teams
  • Overseeing team leaders' investigation, analyses and reporting on all Medicines Management issues affecting their MHS-Teams
  • Undertake an annual appraisal of all Team Leaders within their Group
  • Provide a pastoral support to Team Leaders and escalate concerns to Associate Medical Director
  • Clinical governance within their MHS-teams
  • Attending MHS Clinical Governance committee and Senior Operations Committee as the senior representative of their respective Group teams.
  • Reviewing, analyzing and reporting on all Significant Event and OVA reports from their Group's team leaders
  • Overseeing clinical audit activity within their teams and production of such clinical and operational audits as commissioned by the AMD and Executive team respectively
  • Accepts responsibility for own personal and professional development and undertake such programs as required. Engaging with the Continuing Professional Development program provided and commit to the training opportunities provided to facilitate audit and research within the Mobile Health Service
  • Encouraging and supporting CPD Activity within the MHS-teams and assisting with administration to ensure compliance with QCHP requirements for individual team leaders
  • Responsibility to communicate to their Group team leaders decisions taken at Central Governance and other committees
  • Actively involving and engaging MHS consultants and other healthcare workers within their teams in the design and delivery of care to their MHS-teams cohort of patients
  • Creating an environment within their teams where clinical innovation is encouraged and implemented in the interests of patients
  • Provide strong visible leadership to MHS consultants and other healthcare workers within their Group teams which fosters a culture of collaboration and outcome focused working
  • Develop engagement with Senior Team leaders of all teams within MHS, other Group leaders and the Associate Medical Director to ensure an organizational focus in maintained on the improvement of services for all MHS Patients
  • Ensure delivery against defined strategic outcomes (e.g. the MHS Service Delivery Plan and Quality markers as set by the Executive team and Associate Medical Director from time to time)
  • Lead on the development and implementation of changes to clinical practice which improves quality of care delivered by their teams in close collaboration with the Associate Medical Director
  • Ensure their teams contribute to the development of the Mobile Healthcare Service (and wider Ambulance Group) to achieve accreditation under JCI when applicable
  • To develop an understanding of the wider health needs of the MHS-teams cohort of patients and contribute to the strategic thinking required to position MHS to meet those needs
  • Contribute to the overall vision, direction and priorities for MHS within HMC and Qatar by collaborative working with the Executive Team and Associate Medical Director
  • Responsible for the provision of updates / reports on specific clinical areas of responsibility for the Executive Management team and Associate Medical Director
  • Represent MHS as a Senior Leader to third parties outside the HMCAS Group as needed from time to time
  • To step up to acting Associate Medical Director to cover leave and other absences in this post
  • To be available on call by telephone throughout the 96 hours period that their Group's teams are on duty to deal with clinical queries arising from any of their Group's Team Leaders, Associate Medical Director and Executive team.

Essential Requirements:

  • MD, MBBS or MBChB or Equivalent; for example, FANZCA, FRCA, FFA (CCT)
  • Completion of residency program in the specialty area from an accredited Western Board.
  • Satisfactory completion of an Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) residency program in the United States and certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS
  • Satisfactory completion of a residency program accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Specialist Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Satisfactory completion of a residency training program accredited by a competent authority of a member state of European Community, or Specialist Certification according to the Council Directive.
  • Other countries, (including Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong) recognized qualifications of a similar status that is acceptable to Sidra.
  • Maintenance of board certification status as required in home country.
  • 5+ years clinical experience post certification and completion of training.
  • Recognized achievements in clinical care.
  • Recognized experience and leadership of Adult anaesthesia clinical service leadership
  • Valid professional License in the country of origin or country of practice in the specialty area
  • Strong Medical Knowledge of established and evolving practice, Diagnostics, Therapeutics and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with varied staff efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
