Our client is a global tech company undergoing an exciting transformation, looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing team in Poland.
Skills and Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role working with large-scale data solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, including writing optimized, production-grade code for data processing and automation.
- Strong hands-on experience building and managing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Deep experience with Azure Cloud data services such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, ADLS, Azure Functions, Event Hub, and Service Bus.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and distributed data processing.
- Experience with big data frameworks and tools (e.g., Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake).
- Proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Strong understanding of security best practices around data access, governance, and compliance.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python and Azure services.
- Develop end-to-end cloud-based data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Synapse, and other Azure components.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and application teams to deliver high-quality data products.
- Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Optimize data workflows for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Manage and organize data assets within Azure Data Lake environments and warehouse structures.
- Ensure proper data governance, security, and compliance across data workflows.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to long-term data platform strategy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Mentor junior team members and help establish engineering and data management best practices.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and cloud solutions.
