Our client is recruiting for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to work alongside their team in Chesterfield.

Job Summary:

You will work closely with our teams of engineers, hydraulic modellers and technical specialists to deliver flood risk management projects in the UK and overseas. You will act as the technical lead on flood risk modelling and hydrology projects, supervising and managing the delivery of tasks and projects.

You will support the development of junior members of the team and you will have responsibility for quality assurance and technical reviews. As a team player, you will work as part of an energetic and diverse team to deliver benefits to the communities that we serve.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering or Environmental field.
  • Chartered, or nearing Chartership, with a relevant institution e.g. CIWEM or ICE
  • Hydrology and hydraulic modelling experience
  • Managing projects, delegating tasks and technical mentoring
  • Experience in preparing, delivering and winning tenders for new work
  • Liaison with clients and stakeholders
  • Experience of working on a range of flood risk management projects
  • Experience of working for an Environment Agency WEM Consultant or Water Company Framework Consultant in a related role (desirable).

Specific Skills Required:

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic modelling software, such as InfoWorks ICM, FloodModeller Pro, Tuflow and / or MicroDrainage.
  • Working knowledge of hydrological software, including FEH and ReFH.
  • Project / Task Management.
