Cavendish Professionals are working with a Hertfordshire based organisation who are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To Have an understanding of implementing competitive estimating strategies
  • To submit competitive bids to clients competing effectively against co - competitors.
  • Collect and analyse data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labour required to construct properties as per given tender
  • Managing the provision and cost of an effective responsive repairs
  • Identifying emergency issues that require a proactive response Completing technical drawings Accurately calculating and determining costs of work
  • Preparing work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.
  • Preparing construction budget by studying home plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.
  • Evaluating offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
  • Obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
  • Maintaining cost keys and price masters by updating information.
  • Resolving cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
  • Preparing special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintaining quality service by following organization standards.
  • Maintaining continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Effectively pricing the job via the tender

Skills & Requirements:

  • 15 + years' experience in estimating
  • In Depth knowledge of Construction Industries/Building including Health and Safety related International Standards and Codes.
  • In Depth knowledge of national/local ministerial regulations, standards and performance criteria
  • General Knowledge of One Call Supervision Manual
  • In Depth Knowledge of Contract Documents, fundamental understanding of the principles of contract and administration
