Hosting Clients - A Healthcare Perspective

The last couple of months have been very busy for our International Healthcare team, hosting two of our Healthcare clients from the Middle East who were visiting us on recruitment drives. 

The Primary Health Care Corporation from Qatar were with us in London this October, in order to meet and interview British trained General Practitioners for positions to commence in 2016. The trip was a great success with over 100 General Practitioners at Specialist and Consultant level being recommended post-interview. 

Last week we also welcomed the HR Director and Chief Nursing Officer from the Bin Omeir Hospital in Abu Dhabi.  Visiting the UK on a week-long recruitment drive, they interviewed Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health professionals interested in working in the brand new facility at the beginning of next year. We held two interview days in at our offices in London, which was a fantastic opportunity for our candidates to meet key decision makers within the hospital. 

Why Should Clients Conduct Recruitment Drives?  

Often, clients have reservations about taking part in international recruitment drives, because of the assumed expenses involved and lack of guarantee of success. Undoubtedly, these are important considerations when running a facility. However, our experience with clients, whether they are start-up projects or established hospitals, has demonstrated to us the value of investing in recruitment drives. 

A Few Thoughts on the Benefits of Recruitment Drives:

  • Ideal for volume requirements - allows you to meet more candidates in a structured way- whether that be over 1 day or 1 week. Presentations can be arranged for a larger group so that facility information can be given. 
  • Promotion for the facility with candidates interested and to the wider market- passive candidate pool for future roles. 
  • Increased candidate commitment. For candidates the prospect of moving overseas for employment, although exciting, can also be quite daunting. When candidates have the opportunity to meet representatives/ hiring managers they feel more secure when making the decision to relocate. When site visits are not an option often interviews over Skype/ telephone are not enough. We have found that this is when recruiters and clients are most likely to meet with a passive candidate pool.
  • If possible during the recruitment drive, offers can be issued and released to the candidate via the recruitment consultant. This should avoid delays post interview for feedback and losing interest from candidates. 
  • Notice required and facilities – when partnering with a trusted company, recruitment drives can be arranged at short notice. We have an extensive portfolio of candidates actively seeking new opportunities. Additionally, when drives are arranged at short notice, locating a space to hold interviews is not an issue. Depending on the preference of the client, we are able to accommodate them in our offices and provide them with their own meeting rooms, front of house service and other amenities.
