Our client is a fast-growing European tech scale-up, and they are looking for a Director of Engineering to join their Berlin-based team on a hybrid basis.

Skills & Requirements:
* Extensive experience in senior engineering leadership roles, ideally within high-growth B2B or B2C tech companies.
* Strong technical background across backend technologies and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, GCP) and knowledge of modern frontend frameworks.
* Proven ability to scale engineering teams and systems while maintaining quality, velocity, and operational excellence.
* Deep understanding of modern software development practices, microservices architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent in German and English (C1/C2).
* Inspirational leadership style, fostering collaboration, clarity, and impact.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Lead multiple engineering teams – Align technology initiatives with business goals and oversee delivery of roadmap objectives.
* Collaborate with the CTO – Contribute to technical strategy, architecture, and long-term planning.
* Promote engineering excellence – Ensure best practices across development workflows, code quality, and system performance.
* Mentor and grow leaders – Support engineering managers and team leads, embedding a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.
* Partner cross-functionally – Work closely with Product, Design, and other teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
* Drive scaling efforts – Build and support engineers while paying attention to DEIB-focused strategies.
* Represent engineering – Act as a key technical voice for senior leadership, providing strategic input and ensuring transparency.
