We are working with an innovative technology company building a new generation of intelligent software designed to solve complex analytical problems and reason under uncertainty.
They are looking for a strong Backend Software Engineer to help build and scale the production infrastructure behind their core reasoning technology.
This is a technically challenging role suited to an engineer who enjoys backend architecture, distributed systems, reliability and performance, while working closely with advanced AI and computational systems.
What You Will Be Doing
- Build and scale robust backend services supporting a computationally intensive reasoning platform
- Design and deliver new features end-to-end
- Work on distributed systems, databases, networking and compute infrastructure
- Improve reliability, scalability, performance and observability across the platform
- Design technical solutions and produce design documentation for complex engineering problems
- Build and improve CI/CD infrastructure
- Collaborate closely with engineers and researchers
- Write clean, performant and well-tested production code
- Take ownership of technical problems from initial design through to production
What We Are Looking For
- Strong commercial backend/software engineering experience
- Experience working with large or technically complex production codebases
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices including testing, CI/CD and code reviews
- Experience building scalable backend services
- Knowledge of databases, networking and distributed computing
- Experience implementing observability and monitoring
- Experience with functional or strongly typed programming languages
Particularly relevant languages include:
Rust | OCaml | Clojure | C++ | Haskell
Location: Remote – Europe / CET hours
