Our client is a high-growth, mission-driven technology company operating at global scale, and they are looking for a Lead AI / Machine Learning Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team in Germany.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who thrives at the intersection of applied AI, large-scale systems, and production-ready machine learning solutions. You will have the opportunity to shape and deploy advanced AI systems that power innovative products used by millions of users worldwide.
Skills & Requirements:
- Extensive hands-on experience building and operating machine learning systems in production environments.
- Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs) and experience deploying them at scale (VertexAI experience is a plus).
- Experience designing and scaling automation or data workflows, ideally using tools such as n8n or similar platforms.
- Solid backend and cloud engineering experience (GCP preferred), with strong API design capabilities.
- Clear and structured communicator, able to lead technical discussions and guide team direction.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead applied AI initiatives – Design, build, and deploy LLM-based solutions that support scalable, high-impact product features.
- Own the ML lifecycle – Manage projects from model experimentation and tuning through to production-grade deployment.
- Build automation at scale – Develop and scale automation pipelines and data workflows to support AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally – Work closely with engineering, data, and product teams to deliver impactful AI systems.
- Influence and mentor – Contribute to technical strategy and support the development of engineers around you.
