    Our client is a well-funded, stealth-mode climate and energy technology spin-off based in Munich, Germany, currently looking for a (Senior) Software Engineer to join their growing team and help build next-generation infrastructure for distributed energy systems.

    Backed by an established organisation in the energy optimisation space, the company operates independently and has recently secured significant growth funding. The team is developing an Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform from the ground up, enabling real-time connectivity, monitoring, control, and API integrations across distributed energy assets and market participants.

    You will join a small, fast-scaling engineering team and work closely with founders and product leadership, taking strong ownership in a true zero-to-one environment.

    Skills and Requirements:

    · Minimum 3+ years of software engineering experience (mid-senior level).
    · Strong Python experience building and operating production systems (FastAPI preferred).
    · Experience designing and developing REST APIs and working with OpenAPI specifications.
    · Hands-on experience deploying and operating systems within AWS environments.
    · Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (CDK, Terraform, Pulumi or similar).
    · Strong understanding of scalable system design and backend architecture.
    · Ownership mindset with responsibility extending beyond deployment.
    · Comfortable working in an early-stage, fast-paced startup environment.
    · Strong communication skills in English.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    · Build and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance backend systems.
    · Own features end-to-end including data modelling, API design, testing, and production rollout.
    · Drive code quality and contribute to pragmatic architectural decisions.
    · Improve observability, monitoring, and operational reliability across services.
    · Contribute to infrastructure and cloud deployment strategy.
    · Collaborate closely with founders and product teams to shape technical direction.
    · Continuously improve engineering processes and platform performance.

    Tech Stack:

    · Python (FastAPI)

    · Infrastructure as Code (CDK / Terraform / Pulumi)
    · CI/CD and Docker
    · REST APIs / OpenAPI

    Interview Process:

    · Introductory call with founders
    · Short take-home exercise (2-3 hours)
    · On-site technical deep dive
