Generative AI

One of the recurring themes of SAP Sapphire 2023, was that SAP is putting in place programmess to add generative AI to the toolset of existing AI embedded across the SAP portfolio and using SAP Business Technology Platform. This will help finance teams control costs and reduce risk, sales teams to spend more time with customers, and supply chain managers to predict demand. SAP also announced it will be using AI to make support in SAP S/4HANA more responsive.

The CEOs of Microsoft and Google Cloud announced a cutting-edge collaboration with SAP in the realm of AI and Data and SAP partners are also working to integrate SuccessFactors with Co-pilot in Viva Learning to address the technology skills gap by encouraging continuous learning in the working environment.

Clean CORE

Many of the current systems are complex, including non-standardised business processes and are heavily customised on-Premises ERP legacy landscapes. For the current set of even more complex needs, your buisness should have a renewed thinking to address this barrier to progress.

SAP spoke about its clean core strategy designed for those running legacy ERP systems and envisioning a move to a next-generation ERP such as S/4HANA.

SAP Data Sphere

SAP Datasphere is a solution that will help you to optimise your business processes so you can act faster and more successfully.

Google announced bringing disparate data sources through SAP Datasphere. However, SAP and non-SAP data is not only limited to the Google Cloud partnership. In-fact, SAP is actively working with several data platform providers to bring SAP and non-SAP data together, without the need to move the data from one to the other.

This partnership announcement includes partnerships with ALEPH ALPHA, databricks, data Robot and IBM.

Carbon Accounting

SAP announced, a new ‘Green Ledger’ that integrates with cloud ERP to provide real-time financial and environmental decisions. When on the SAP Business Network, you can select suppliers based not only on price and availability, but also on their sustainability rating and human rights record.

The first release was seen this year as a feature of RISE w/SAP and GROW w/SAP. SAP’s goal is to provide businesses with the accounting tools they need to decarbonise their supply chains — an initiative of greater interest of late to organisations seeking to improve ESG strategies.
