At just over 828 metres, the Burj Khalifa is officially the tallest building in the world. It has 163 floors, 57 elevators and 8 escalators. It took only 6 years to build the impressive cross-shaped structure.
Every year, the Burj Khalifa attracts new overseas investors and more movie directors. It made a notorious appearance in “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”.
Located 50 kilometres from the centre of Shanghai, this impressive hotel is being built on the site of an abandoned quarry.
It has 19 floors, 17 of which are below ground level. The last 2 floors are underwater. The project has suffered a few delays: the opening date has been pushed to May 2018.
This is the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere and stands where the original 6 World Trade Centre stood before 9/11.
It was designed by the same firm that designed the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The building, also known as “Freedom Tower”, opened in November 2014.
This spectacular structure connects Honk Kong with Macau and Zhunai, three major cities located on the Pearl River Delta in China.
It combines a bridge and an undersea tunnel, both designed to withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake, a super typhoon and even a strike by a cargo vessel! It’s set to open to vehicular traffic in 2018.
The 1200km railway will connect the principal cities of the UAE. The project is divided in 3 phases; the first segment of 264km is still under construction and should be completed soon.
The network will provide economic growth and social development by linking 6 countries: The Kingdom of Bahrain, The State of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UAE.
