We are recruiting for a Site Manager to join a respected UK civil engineering contractor, working on a project in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who is passionate about delivering projects to the highest standard while advancing their career.
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing critical aspects of the project, ensuring commercial performance, and maintaining site safety and quality. You will work closely with the Project Manager, site teams, and clients to deliver successful outcomes.
Duration: Long Term Project
Hours: 10-12 hour shifts
Location: Bristol
What they are looking for:
Planning & Delivery
Take a 3-week lookahead and turn it into a practical, sequenced, and resourced weekly plan
Identify constraints early (design, access, materials, interfaces) and resolve them ahead of time
Understand outputs and durations – not just activities – and plan accordingly
Resourcing & Productivity
Allocate the correct labour and plant to each task based on realistic outputs
Ensure gangs are set up to succeed – right kit, right information, right conditions
Actively manage productivity throughout the day and adjust where required
Leadership & Daily Structure
Lead clear, structured morning briefings – setting expectations for safety, quality, and outputs
Ensure all operatives are allocated, briefed, and understand the plan for the day
Run daily planning and debrief sessions with foremen to track performance and improve
Safety, Quality & Control
Maintain consistent oversight of works without needing to be everywhere at once
Ensure works are carried out in line with RAMS, ITPs, and design requirements
Carry out targeted checks and interventions to maintain standards
Commercial Awareness
Understand what has been allowed within the BoQ / scope of works
Identify changes, inefficiencies, or additional works as they arise
Ensure these are captured early, clearly communicated, and supported with records
Documentation & Accountability
Ensure foremen and engineers complete daily records, allocation sheets, and quality documentation
Maintain accurate site records to support progress, change, and commercial position
Hold the team accountable where standards slip.
Experience & Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Site Manager on a similar project
Experience within the groundworks, civils & infrastructure sectors
Valid Management CSCS, SMSTS & First Aid
Ability to drive and lead a team
Strong communication skills
Ability to plan head
Working references – essential
