It is only 3 days before we tee off for our golf Charity Day. One of our chosen charities for this event is Lighthouse Club – The Construction Industry Charity.
It is estimated that 1-2 construction workers commit suicide every day. The industry is trying hard to reduce those concerning numbers. The Lighthouse Club is one charity that has been set up to help support construction workers and their families. They are a charity that provides emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.
Cavendish Professionals and Construction Sport
The charity was started in 1956, to show goodwill throughout the construction industry. To this current day, Lighthouse continues to proactively provide resources that help support not only the families that have been left behind by a loved one, but also get ahead of any mental health problems before they begin.
Lighthouse Club offers a free and confidential 24/7 helpline, advice on occupational health and mental wellbeing, whilst also providing legal, tax, and debt management support if required.
The work they do is pivotal and is important for us at Cavendish Professionals to help support those making a difference in the industry we operate.
Listen to Bill Hill CEO of Lighthouse Club talk about the issues that affect the construction industry and what they are trying to do in order to alleviate those pressures that construction workers and their families go through.
