Our client is a global consulting firm looking for an experienced Vulnerability Threat Management Tracking Analyst to drive a high-stakes initiative on a 12 month B2B contract.
Skills and Requirements:
- 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in Information Security, with an established background in vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and threat analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent commercial experience).
- Deep technical understanding of information security and vulnerability management processes, encompassing system architecture, patch development, and remediation techniques.
- Advanced SQL proficiency for querying enterprise databases, self-serving technology data, and tracking asset inventories.
- Working knowledge of a scripting language (with a strong preference for Python) to automate tracking workflows and scheduled reporting tasks.
- Familiarity with industry-standard vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Qualys, Snyk) and practical comprehension of scanner limitations that necessitate manual verification.
- Solid background in descriptive statistics to build actionable metrics, discern risk trends, and maintain operational dashboards.
- Exceptional English communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex technical vulnerabilities and remediation progress clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail, structured organizational abilities, and strong problem-solving capabilities under pressure.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end operational ownership of manually tracking and verifying high-priority and critical vulnerability remediation across the firm where automated signatures are unavailable.
- Rigorously inspect and validate technical remediation evidence submitted by engineering, infrastructure, and application squads.
- Maintain dedicated, audit-ready tracking and produce accurate status reporting for vulnerabilities under the line of sight of key regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate proactively with IT engineering, operations teams, and product owners to drive remediation lifecycles, eliminate pending roadblocks, and enforce escalation paths for past-due items.
- Develop, automate, and maintain detailed executive reports, key risk indicators (KRIs), and operational dashboards to provide senior leadership with transparent visibility into organizational risk posture.
- Partner with cross-functional technical teams to identify systemic vulnerability trends and propose automated workflow enhancements.
