As we look back on our first charity golf day, held on Friday 20th May at Ealing Golf Club, we want to thank all of those who attended and made it such a great success.
Our aim was to raise money and awareness for two great charities working hard to make a difference, Construction Sport and The Lighthouse Club. Both charities strive to create a positive environment for the industry and make construction a safer place for all workers and Cavendish Professionals wanted to be part of this positive change.
The day started off with registration, counting up team members, handicaps and tee-off times. After a lovely breakfast, the teams were ready for the 18 holes.
Throughout the day, we held two competitions at different holes on the course. The longest drive competition at the 7th hole and Beat the Pro at the 18th hole that was kindly hosted by Construction Sport. Phil Akers, a trustee at Construction Sport and former pro golfer, challenged players to see who could get the closest shot to the hole and of course, raise more money for the charities.
As part of our new Content strategy, we were joined by our Videographers at KO Visuals to capture the days activities, players and important conversations with both Steve Kerslake at Construction Sport and Bill Hill at The Lighthouse Club.
After a long 18 holes in the rain, the sun came out just in time for the teams to arrive back for some lunch and refreshments. A few teams featured below: YY Security, Quattro UK, Ardmore and Thames Materials.
Lunch was followed by two very important speeches by The Lighthouse Club and Construction Sport. Bill Hill, CEO of The Lighthouse Club discussed the worrying statistics of construction workers mental health in the industry and the services that they provide to help tackle these issues. Steve Kerslake, discussed what Construction Sport are doing for the Industry and sport and what benefits it can have for construction workers and their mental health.
We ended the day with the announcements of the Winning Team and Player of the golf day and also the winners of our raffles prizes.
Some of our lucky winners went home with the following prizes:
We want to again thank everyone that attended the Cavendish Professionals 2022 Charity Golf Day and raised money and awareness for our chosen charities. We look forward to seeing you next year!
