    Our client is a global consulting firm looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to drive a high-stakes initiative: building, operating, and scaling a Kubernetes-native OpenStack Control Plane platform on a 12 month B2B contract.

    Skills and Requirements:

    • Extensive commercial experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
    • Strong hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and multi-cluster topologies.
    • Practical track record building and extending Kubernetes operators and controllers using Operator SDK, controller-runtime, or Kubebuilder.
    • In-depth understanding of Kubernetes internals, including Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), sub-reconciler patterns, admission webhooks, and finalizers.
    • Proven experience with Kubernetes-native testing tools and frameworks (e.g., envtest, Chainsaw E2E, Tempest, Chaos Mesh).
    • Robust background in GitOps workflows and continuous delivery, specifically leveraging FluxCD.
    • Solid proficiency in Go (Golang) for platform development, controller logic, and automation tooling.
    • Strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and secure credential management (e.g., OpenBao, External Secrets Operator).
    • Working knowledge of OpenStack architecture and core control-plane services (Keystone, Glance, Horizon).
    • Solid grasp of security-by-design, least-privilege principles, and regulatory compliance standards.
    • Open-source contributions or experience delivering shared, reusable engineering frameworks are strong pluses].
    • Exceptional English communication skills and ability to create comprehensive Markdown technical documentation.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Develop, maintain, and enhance core cloud-native platform components and reusable Kubernetes operator automations (CobaltCore / C5C3).
    • Operate, manage, and scale Kubernetes operators across multi-cluster environments (Management, Control Plane, Hypervisor, and Storage).
    • Implement and maintain reliable, declarative GitOps deployment patterns using FluxCD.
    • Collaborate closely with software architects to translate technical designs into executable tasks, evolve the reconciler architecture, and streamline onboarding for OpenStack operators (Keystone, Glance, Horizon).
    • Design and execute end-to-end Kubernetes-native testing strategies to validate platform resilience, chaos tolerance, and regression prevention.
    • Diagnose and resolve complex platform incidents, conduct root-cause analyses, and drive continuous infrastructure optimizations.
    • Produce clear technical runbooks, architectural documentation, and team onboarding guides.
    • Provide technical guidance on leveraging modern AI tooling within Kubernetes operator patterns, CRD architecture, and platform operations.
    • Contribute to open-source platform initiatives and internal reusable libraries to ensure consistent engineering practices across distributed squads.
